Daiva–Puruṣakāra Inquiry: Fate and Human Effort
अभ्युत्थानेन दैवस्य समारब्धेन कर्मणा । विधिना कर्मणा चैव स्वर्गमार्गमवाप्लुयात्,मनुष्य दैवके उत्थानसे आरम्भ किये हुए पुरुषार्थसे उत्तम विधि और शास्त्रोक्त सत्कर्मसे ही स्वर्गलोकका मार्ग पा सकता है
abhyutthānena daivasya samārabdhena karmaṇā | vidhinā karmaṇā caiva svargamārgam avāpnuyāt ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਚੇ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਦੈਵ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਕੂਲ ਕਰਮ ਆਰੰਭ ਕਰਕੇ, ਅਤੇ ਵਿਧੀ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ-ਵਿਹਿਤ ਸਤਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਵਰਗ-ਮਾਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
