दैव–पुरुषकार-प्रश्नः

नादातांर भजन्त्यर्था न क्लीबं नापि निष्क्रियम् नाकर्मशीलं नाशूरं तथा नैवातपस्विनम्
Transliteration
na adātāraṁ bhajanty arthā na klībaṁ nāpi niṣkriyam | na akarmaśīlaṁ nāśūraṁ tathā na eva atapaskinam ||
Translation
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਧਨ ਉਸ ਕੰਜੂਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਜੋ ਦਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ; ਨਾ ਨਪੁੰਸਕ ਨੂੰ, ਨਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਕ੍ਰਿਯ ਨੂੰ; ਨਾ ਕਰਮ ਤੋਂ ਜੀ ਚੁਰਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ, ਨਾ ਸ਼ੌਰਯਹੀਨ ਨੂੰ; ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਤਪੱਸਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਨੂੰ।
