Cyavana’s Water-Vow and the Ethics of Cohabitation (स्नेह-सम्वास-धर्मः)
वक्षित्तु संशयो मे5स्ति तन्मे ब्रूहि पितामह । जाते5स्मिन् संशये राजन् नान्यं पृच्छेम कंचन
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca |
vakṣituṁ saṁśayo me 'sti tan me brūhi pitāmaha |
jāte 'smin saṁśaye rājan nānyaṁ pṛcchema kañcana ||
ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਪਿਤਾਮਹ! ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ; ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੱਸੋ। ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਹ ਉੱਠਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਛਾਂਗਾ।
