Vivāha-dharma: Kanyā-pradāna, Śulka, and Pāṇigrahaṇa-niṣṭhā (अनुशासन पर्व, अध्याय ४४)
विपुल उवाच अजितेन्द्रिय दुर्बुद्धे पापात्मक पुरन्दर । न चिरं पूजयिष्यन्ति देवास्त्वां मानुषास्तथा
vipula uvāca | ajitendriya durbuddhe pāpātmaka purandara | na ciraṁ pūjayiṣyanti devās tvāṁ mānuṣās tathā ||
ਵਿਪੁਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ— ‘ਹੇ ਪੁਰੰਦਰ, ਪਾਪੀ! ਤੇਰੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਖੋਟੀ ਹੈ; ਤੂੰ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ। ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਇਉਂ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ, ਤਾਂ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਪੂਜਾ-ਮਾਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਣਗੇ।’
