श्यामायनो<थ गार्ग्यश्व॒ जाबालि: सुश्रुतस्तथा । कारीषिरथ संभश्रुत्य: परपौरवतन्तव:
śyāmāyano ’tha gārgyāśvaḥ jābāliḥ suśrutas tathā | kārīṣiratha saṃbhaśrutyaḥ parapauravatantavaḥ ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਫਿਰ ਸ਼੍ਯਾਮਾਯਨ, ਗਾਰ੍ਗ੍ਯਾਸ਼੍ਵ, ਜਾਬਾਲਿ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਸ਼੍ਰੁਤ; ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕਾਰੀਸ਼ਿਰਥ, ਸੰਭਸ਼੍ਰੁਤ੍ਯ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਪੌਰਵ ਵੰਸ਼-ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੀ ਸਨ।
भीष्म उवाच

Bhīṣma continues enumerating notable sages and lineage-holders, presenting them as exemplars or authorities whose traditions support the dharmic guidance he is conveying in the Anuśāsana Parva.
