Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities

ऊर्जावतीं महापुण्यां मधुमतीं त्रिवर्त्मगाम्‌ । त्रिलोकगोफ्तीं ये गड्डां संश्रितास्‍्ते दिवं गता:

Transliteration

Ūrjāvatīṁ mahāpuṇyāṁ madhumatīṁ trivartmagām | Trilokagoptīṁ ye Gaṅgāṁ saṁśritās te divaṁ gatāḥ ||

Translation

ਸਿੱਧ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਗੰਗਾ ਓਜਸਵਤੀ, ਮਹਾਪੁਣ੍ਯਮਈ, ਮਿੱਠੇ ਜਲ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ, ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਤਾਲ—ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਮਾਰਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਮਨ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਵਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
