Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
अग्नौ प्रास्तं प्रधूयेत यथा तूल॑ द्विजोत्तम । तथा गज्भजावगाढस्य सर्वपापं प्रधूयते
agnau prāstaṃ pradhūyeta yathā tūlaṃ dvijottama | tathā gaṅgāmbhasi āvāgāḍhasya sarvapāpaṃ pradhūyate ||
ਸਿੱਧ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਦਵਿਜ-ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ ਰੂਈ ਦਾ ਗੁੱਛਾ ਪਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਰਾਖ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਗੰਗਾ-ਜਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬਕੀ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਧੁਲ ਕੇ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
