मणिमन्थे<थ शैले वै पुरा सम्पूजितो मया । वर्षायुतसहस्राणां सहस्नं शतमेव च

Transliteration

maṇimanth(e)tha śaile vai purā sampūjito mayā | varṣāyutasahasrāṇāṃ sahasraṃ śatam eva ca ||

Translation

ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਸਮੇਂ ਮਣਿਮੰਥ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ-ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ, ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਲੱਖ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਵੀ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਡੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ।
