दम्भो हादम्भो वैदम्भो वश्यो वशकर: कलि: । लोककर्ता पशुपतिर्महाकर्ता हनौषध:
vāyudeva uvāca | dambho ’dambho vaidambho vaśyo vaśakaraḥ kaliḥ | lokakartā paśupatiḥ mahākartā anauṣadhaḥ ||
ਵਾਯੂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਉਹ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਦੰਭ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ; ਦੰਭਹੀਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਪਣਾ; ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਸ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਉਹੀ ਕਲਿਯੁਗ-ਰੂਪ ਕਾਲ ਹੈ; ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਰਤਾ, ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ (ਪਸ਼ੁਪਤੀ), ਪੰਚ ਮਹਾਭੂਤ ਆਦਿ ਸਮੂਹ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਰਚਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਹਾਕਰਤਾ; ਅਤੇ ਅੰਨ-ਔਸ਼ਧ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ।
