ज्योतिर्भूत: परमोडसौ पुरस्तात् प्रकाशते यत्प्रभया विश्वरूप: । अप: सृष्टवा सर्वभूतात्मयोनि: पुराकरोत् सर्वमेवाथ विश्वम्
jyotirbhūtaḥ paramo 'sau purastāt prakāśate yatprabhayā viśvarūpaḥ | apaḥ sṛṣṭvā sarvabhūtātmayoniḥ purākarot sarvamevātha viśvam ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਉਹ ਪਰਮ ਜੋਤਿ ਪੂਰਬ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਰੂਪ ਧਾਰ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤਰਆਤਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਦਾ ਗਰਭ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਲ ਦੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਮੰਡ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
