येषां वृद्धश्न बालश्न सर्व: सम्मानमरहति । तपोविद्याविशेषात्तु मानयन्ति परस्परम्‌

Transliteration

yeṣāṁ vṛddhaśna bālaśna sarvaḥ sammānam arhati | tapovidyāviśeṣāt tu mānayanti parasparam ||

Translation

ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਬੱਚਾ—ਹਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ; ਪਰ ਤਪ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਹ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਮਾਣ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
