महेष्वासो महीभर्ता श्रीनिवास: सतां गति: । अनिरुद्ध: सुरानन्दो गोविन्दो गोविदां पति:
maheṣvāso mahībhartā śrīnivāsaḥ satāṃ gatiḥ | aniruddhaḥ surānando govindo govidāṃ patiḥ ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਉਹ ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੈ—ਮਹਾਨ ਧਨੁਧਾਰੀ; ਉਹ ਮਹੀਭਰਤਾ ਹੈ—ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਉਹ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੈ—ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਕਸ਼ਸਥਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਹੈ; ਉਹ ਸਤਾਂ ਗਤੀ ਹੈ—ਸੱਜਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮ ਆਸਰਾ। ਉਹ ਅਨਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੈ—ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਰੋਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ; ਉਹ ਸੁਰਾਨੰਦ ਹੈ—ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਉਹ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਹੈ—ਵੇਦਵਾਣੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ; ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਗੋਵਿਦਾਂ ਪਤੀ ਹੈ—ਵੇਦ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਮੀ।
