एको विष्णुर्महदभूतं पृथग्भूतान्यनेकश: । त्रीललोकान् व्याप्य भूतात्मा भुछुक्ते विश्वभुगव्यय:
eko viṣṇur mahadabhūtaṃ pṛthagbhūtāny anekaśaḥ | trīl lokān vyāpya bhūtātmā bhuṅkte viśvabhug avyayaḥ ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਅਵਿਨਾਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਹੈ; ਉਹੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਭੂਤ (ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ) ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਕੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਸਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਆਪ ਕੇ, ਸਭ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤਰਾਤਮਾ ਬਣ ਕੇ, ਉਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ-ਭੋਗਤਾ ਹੈ।
