श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच देवि धर्मार्थतत्त्वज्ञे धर्मनित्ये दमे रते । सर्वप्राणिहित: प्रश्न: श्रूयतां बुद्धिवर्धन:

Transliteration

śrīmaheśvara uvāca

Devi dharmārthatattvajñe dharmanitye dame rate |

sarvaprāṇihitaḥ praśnaḥ śrūyatāṃ buddhivardhanaḥ ||

Translation

ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—“ਦੇਵੀ! ਤੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਥ ਦੇ ਤੱਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈਂ, ਧਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਦਾ ਅਡੋਲ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਮ (ਆਤਮ-ਸੰਯਮ) ਵਿੱਚ ਰਤ ਹੈਂ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਤ ਲਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ—ਸੁਣ।”
