कालयुक्तधर्मविवेकः
Discerning Dharma in Accord with Time
वृत्त्यर्थ धर्महेतोर्वा सेवितव्य: सदा नरै: ।। स्वर्गवासमभीप्सद्/िर्न सेव्यस्त्वत उत्तर:
vṛttyarthaṃ dharmahetor vā sevitavyaḥ sadā naraiḥ | svargavāsam abhīpsadbhir na sevyas tv ata uttaraḥ ||
ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—“ਰੋਜ਼ੀ-ਰੋਟੀ ਲਈ ਜਾਂ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਹਿਤ ਲਈ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਦਾ ਸੇਵਾ-ਕਰਮ ਅਪਣਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਜੋ ਸਵਰਗ-ਵਾਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ‘ਉੱਤਰ’ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਨੀਚ/ਆਤਮਿਕ ਉੱਨਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਕਾਵਟ ਬਣਨ ਵਾਲੀ) ਸੇਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ।”
