ब्राह्मण्यं देवि सम्प्राप्य रक्षितव्यं यतात्मना । योनिप्रतिग्रहादानै: कर्मभिश्न शुचिस्मिते

Transliteration

brāhmaṇyaṁ devi samprāpya rakṣitavyaṁ yatātmanā | yonipratigrahadānaiḥ karmabhiś ca śucismite ||

Translation

ਮਹੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਦੇਵੀ! ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਤਵ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਯਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਸ਼ੁਚਿਸਮਿਤੇ! ਜਨਮ ਅਤੇ ਆਚਰਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਤਿਗ੍ਰਹ (ਦਾਨ-ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ) ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧਤਾ, ਦਾਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਤਕਰਮਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਤਾ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
