न कुट्यां नोदके सड़्ो न वाससि न चासने । न त्रिदण्डे न शयने नाग्नौ न शरणालये
na kuṭyāṃ nodake saṅgo na vāsasi na cāsane | na tridaṇḍe na śayane nāgnau na śaraṇālaye ||
ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਮੋਖ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਝੋਂਪੜੀ, ਪਾਣੀ, ਵਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਸਨ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਾਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ; ਨਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਦੰਡ ਨਾਲ, ਨਾ ਸੈਜ ਨਾਲ, ਨਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ, ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ। ਮੋਖ-ਸਾਧਕ ਨੂੰ ਤਪੱਸਵੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਸਹਾਰਿਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਮਮਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰਤਾ ਤਿਆਗਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ।
