Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how immense power (tejas) can bring instantaneous, far-reaching harm; it implicitly calls for restraint and responsibility, since even revered, life-giving realms like Himavān—home to herbs and resources—can be ruined in a moment.

Nārada describes a sudden conflagration: Himavān is burned at once, with its mineral-rich peaks and wide slopes scorched, and its creepers and medicinal plants left aflame—depicting a catastrophic, swift devastation caused by a previously mentioned agency.
