मांसपरिवर्जन-प्रशंसा (Praise of Abstention from Meat) / Ethics of Ahiṃsā in Diet and Rite

यदि व्याहरते राजन्‌ विप्राणां धर्मवादिनाम्‌ | ततोअधर्मकृतात्‌ क्षिप्रमपवादात्‌ प्रमुच्यते

yadi vyāharate rājan viprāṇāṃ dharmavādinām | tato 'dharmakṛtāt kṣipram apavādāt pramucyate ||

ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਜੇ ਪਾਪੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਾਪ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਅਧਰਮਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਰਮ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਠਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਤੇ ਅਪਵਾਦ ਤੋਂ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
