Anuśāsana-parva 108
वयःस्थां च महाप्राज्ञ: कन्यामावोदुम्ति । जो श्रेष्ठ कुलमें उत्पन्न हुई हो
vayaḥsthāṃ ca mahāprājñaḥ kanyām āvodum icchati | yo śreṣṭha-kule utpannā bhavet uttama-lakṣaṇaiḥ praśaṃsitā ca vivāha-yogyām avasthāṃ prāptā | tādṛśīṃ sulakṣaṇāṃ kanyāṃ saha śreṣṭha-buddhimān puruṣo vivāhayet ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਹੈ—ਜੋ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਹਾਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਕਨਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਧਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰੇ ਜੋ ਵਿਆਹ-ਯੋਗ ਉਮਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਹੁੰਚੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਕੁਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਤਮ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਲੱਛਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਿਤ ਹੋਵੇ।
