Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity
इन्द्रियाणि सकृत्स्पृश्य त्रिरभ्युक्ष्य च मानव: । कुर्वीत पित्र्यं दैवं च वेददृष्टेन कर्मणा
indriyāṇi sakṛt spṛśya trir abhyukṣya ca mānavaḥ | kurvīta pitryaṃ daivaṃ ca vedadṛṣṭena karmaṇā ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਨੇਤਰ ਆਦਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਛੂਹ ਕੇ, ਫਿਰ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਲ ਛਿੜਕੇ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸੇ ਕਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਦੇਵ-ਯਜ्ञ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤ੍ਰ-ਯਜ्ञ ਕਰੇ।
