शतक्रतुरुवाच येषां वेदा निहिता वै गुहायां मनीषिणां सत्यवतां महात्मनाम् | तेषां त्वयैकेन महात्मनास्मि वृद्धस्तस्मात् प्रीतिमांस्तेडहमद्य
śatakratur uvāca yeṣāṃ vedā nihitā vai guhāyāṃ manīṣiṇāṃ satyavatāṃ mahātmanām | teṣāṃ tvayā ekena mahātmanā asmi vṛddhas tasmāt prītimāṃs te ’ham adya ||
ਸ਼ਤਕ੍ਰਤੁ (ਇੰਦਰ) ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਚਬੋਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ, ਵਿਵੇਕਸ਼ੀਲ ਮਹਾਤਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ-ਗੁਫ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਦ ਨਿਹਿਤ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੋ। ਹੇ ਮਹਾਤਮਾ, ਕੇਵਲ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕਲਿਆਣ-ਚਿੰਤਨ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਸਮ੍ਰਿੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ; ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅੱਜ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਅਤਿਅਧਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
