Duḥṣantasya Vana-praveśaḥ
King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
इषीकया मया बाल्याद् विद्धा होका शकुन्तिका । तत् किल्बिषं स्मरे धर्म नान्यत् पापमहं स्मरे
iṣīkayā mayā bālyād viddhā ho kā śakuntikā | tat kilbiṣaṃ smare dharma nānyat pāpam ahaṃ smare ||
ਧਰਮਰਾਜ! ਬਚਪਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਬਾਲਸੁਭਾਵੀ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਸੀੰਕ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਪੰਛੀ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਛੇਦ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹੀ ਇਕ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਾਪ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਨਹੀਂ।
