King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
जग्राह तरसोपेत्य साद्रिका मत्स्यरूपिणी । कदाचिदपि मत्सीं तां बबन्धुर्मत्स्यजीविन:
jagrāha tarasopetya sādrikā matsyarūpiṇī | kadācid api matsīṁ tāṁ babandhur matsyajīvinaḥ ||
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਮੱਛੀ-ਰੂਪ ਧਾਰਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਕਾ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਵੇਗ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ ਲਿਆ। ਫਿਰ ਮੱਛੀ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੱਛੇਰੇਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮੱਛੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਸਾ ਕੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਿਆ; ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਪੇਟ ਚੀਰਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਕੁੜੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਮੁੰਡਾ ਨਿਕਲੇ—ਯਮੁਨਾ ਦੇ ਜਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਗ੍ਯ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਅਜੀਬ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ।
