Duḥṣantasya Vana-praveśaḥ
King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
prativindhyo yudhiṣṭhirāt sutasomo vṛkodarāt | arjunāc chrutakīrtis tu śatānīkas tu nākuliḥ |
The verse reinforces the Mahābhārata’s emphasis on dharma as continuity: rightful lineage and responsible progeny sustain social order and preserve a dynasty’s obligations, even when the larger narrative moves toward war and crisis.
Daśa is listing the sons of the Pāṇḍavas—naming each child and his father—within a broader genealogical account that situates later events by clarifying family relationships and succession.
