तस्य पूर्व शिरो ग्रस्तं पुच्छमस्य निगीर्य च । निगीर्यमाणा साक्रामत् सुतं नागी मुमुक्षया
tasya pūrvaṃ śiro grastaṃ puccham asya nigīrya ca | nigīryamāṇā sākramat sutaṃ nāgī mumukṣayā ||
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਗਲ ਲਿਆ, ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪੁੱਛ ਵੀ ਨਿਗਲਦੀ ਗਈ। ਨਿਗਲਦਿਆਂ-ਨਿਗਲਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਨਾਗਣੀ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਰਕਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਦੂਰ ਹਟਣ ਲੱਗੀ।
