न तु केवलदैवेन प्रजा भावेन रेमिरे । यद् बभूव मनःकान्तं कर्मणा स चकार तत्
na tu kevaladaivena prajā bhāvena remire | yad babhūva manaḥkāntaṃ karmaṇā sa cakāra tat |
ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਕੇਵਲ ਦੈਵ-ਭਾਗ ਜਾਂ ਸੁਭਾਗੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੀ ਖੁਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ; ਉਹ ਭਾਵ ਨਾਲ, ਦਿਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ, ਰਾਜਾ ਉਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ; ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਤੇ ਭਗਤੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਵੀ ਸੀ।
