गौरुवाच कशाग्रदण्डाभिह्वतां क्रोशन्ती मामनाथवत्‌ | विश्वामित्रबलैघोरैर्भगवन्‌ किमुपेक्षसे,गौने कहा--भगवन! विश्वामित्रके निर्दय सैनिक मुझे कोड़ों और डंडोंसे पीट रहे हैं। मैं अनाथकी भाँति क्रन्दन कर रही हूँ। आप क्‍यों मेरी उपेक्षा कर रहे हैं?

gaur uvāca: kaśāgra-daṇḍābhihvatāṁ krośantī mām anāthavat | viśvāmitra-balaiḥ ghōrair bhagavan kim upekṣase ||

ਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਭਗਵਨ! ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦਈ ਸੈਨਿਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੋੜਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਡੰਡਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਅਨਾਥ ਵਾਂਗ ਚੀਖ ਰਹੀ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਪੇਖਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ?
