धर्म्यमर्थसमायुक्तमुवाच वचन हितम्‌ | कौसल्ये धर्मतन्त्र॑ त्वां यद्‌ ब्रवीमि निबोध तत्‌

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

dharmyam arthasamāyuktam uvāca vacanaṁ hitam |

kausalyē dharmatantre tvaṁ yad bravīmi nibodha tat ||

ਉਸ ਨੇ ਧਰਮਯੁਕਤ, ਅਰਥ-ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਿਤਕਾਰੀ ਬਚਨ ਕਹੇ— “ਹੇ ਕੌਸਲਿਆ! ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਝ ਲੈ।”
