ਅਸ਼ਵਤ्थ, ਪਲਕ੍ਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਨ੍ਯਗ੍ਰੋਧ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਪੂਰਬ ਪਾਸੇ ਲਗਾਉਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ; ਉਦੁੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਤੇ ਮੰਗਲ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਈਸ਼ਾਨ (ਉੱਤਰ‑ਪੂਰਬ) ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਲਮਲੀ ਹੋਵੇ; ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਸਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ—ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਘਨ ਹਰਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ।

This verse presents tree placement as a dhārmic method to enhance a home’s auspiciousness and stability—specific trees in specific directions are said to beautify the dwelling and help remove obstacles.
It states that when the prescribed tree (here, Sālmali in the Īśāna/north-east) is worshipped, it functions as a vighna-hārī—an obstacle-remover—for both prāsāda (temple) and gṛha (house).
