FAQs

This verse sets the ritual foundation: physical bathing and the purificatory act of ācamana are prescribed as the first steps, establishing śauca (purity) before beginning Māheśvarī worship.

It does not describe the soul’s post-death journey here; instead, it teaches disciplined preparation for worship—purity, order, and reverence—which the Purana presents as supportive of dharma and spiritual progress.

Before prayer or meditation, begin with basic cleanliness, a brief purification practice (like ācamana or mindful rinsing), and a stable seated posture—prioritizing readiness and respect in daily worship.
