Viśvarūpa’s Death, Vṛtrāsura’s Manifestation, and the Devas’ Surrender to Nārāyaṇa
स एव हि पुन: सर्ववस्तुनि वस्तुस्वरूप: सर्वेश्वर: सकलजगत्कारणकारणभूत: सर्व प्रत्यगात्मत्वात् सर्वगुणाभासोपलक्षित एक एव पर्यवशेषित: ॥ ३८ ॥
sa eva hi punaḥ sarva-vastuni vastu-svarūpaḥ sarveśvaraḥ sakala-jagat-kāraṇa-kāraṇa-bhūtaḥ sarva-pratyag-ātmatvāt sarva-guṇābhāsopalakṣita eka eva paryavaśeṣitaḥ.
ਉਹੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਸਭ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਤੂ-ਸਰੂਪ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਰਵੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਹੈ। ਸਭ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਅੰਤਰਯਾਮੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹੀ ਇਕ ਬਚਦਾ ਹੈ।
The words sarva-vastuni vastu-svarūpaḥ indicate that the Supreme Lord is the active principle of everything. As described in the Brahma-saṁhitā (5.35) :
This verse states that the Supreme Lord is the kāraṇa-kāraṇa-bhūta—the ultimate cause behind every cause in the universe—while remaining the essential reality within all things.
In the context of Canto 6 Chapter 9, the teaching emphasizes that God is present within all beings as the indwelling Self, which is why He can be perceived through the manifestations of qualities, even though He is ultimately one.
Practice respect and compassion toward all beings, reduce envy, and cultivate steady devotion by remembering that the same Supreme Lord resides within everyone.
