Dakṣa’s Daughters, Cosmic Lineages, and the Population of the Three Worlds

तं वव्रिरे सुरगणा स्वस्रीयं द्विषतामपि । विमतेन परित्यक्ता गुरुणाङ्गिरसेन यत् ॥ ४५ ॥

taṁ vavrire sura-gaṇā svasrīyaṁ dviṣatām api vimatena parityaktā guruṇāṅgirasena yat

ਭਾਵੇਂ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਰੂਪ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੈਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਦੇਵਗਣ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਬ੍ਰਿਹਸਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਅਪਮਾਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤਿਆਗੇ ਗਏ, ਤਦ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼੍ਵਰੂਪ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਰੋਹਿਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
