Sukta 7
सिंहस्येव स्तनथोः सं विजन्तेऽग्नेरिव विजन्त आभृताभ्यः । गवां यक्ष्मः पुरुषाणां वीरुद्भिरतिनुत्तो नाव्याऽएतु स्रोत्याः
siṁhásyéva stanáthōḥ sáṁ ví janté ’agné́r iva vijanté ā́bhr̥tābhyaḥ | gavā́ṁ yákṣmaḥ púruṣāṇāṁ vīrúdbhir átinutto nā́vyā́ etu srotyā́ḥ ||
As at the lion’s roaring they are driven apart, as by Agni’s might they are driven forth from the gathered remedies: the yákṣma of cattle, the yákṣma of men—by the plants thrust utterly away—let it depart by boat unto the running streams.
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਗੱਜ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਵਿਖਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅਗਨੀ ਦੇ ਤੇਜ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ—ਇਕੱਠੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਔਸ਼ਧੀਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ: ਗਾਂਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਕ੍ਸ਼ਮਾ, ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਕ੍ਸ਼ਮਾ—ਬੂਟੀਆਂ (ਵੀਰੁਧ) ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਧੱਕ ਕੇ ਦੂਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ—ਨਾਵ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲ, ਦੌੜਦੀਆਂ ਸ੍ਰੋਤਾਂ ਵੱਲ, ਚਲਾ ਜਾਵੇ।
