Sukta 42
पापमोचनम्। सोमारुद्रा वि वृहतं विषूचीममी वा या नो गयमाविवेश । बाधेथां दूरं निरृतिं पराचैः कृतं चिदेनः प्र मुमुक्तमस्मत्
sómārudrā ví vṛhatam viṣū́cīm amī́ṃ vā yā́ no gáyam āvivéśa | bā́dhethāṃ dūráṃ nírṛtiṃ parācaíḥ kṛtáṃ cid énaḥ prá mumuktam asmát
O Soma and Rudra, drive ye apart the straying evil—or the sickness—which hath entered our life and home. Smite ye away, far off, Destruction backward; and even the sin that is done, from us set free.
(ਪਾਪਮੋਚਨम्) ਹੇ ਸੋਮ-ਰੁਦ੍ਰੋ, ਸਾਡੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖ਼ਲ ਹੋਈ ਵਿਸੂਚੀ ਭਟਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਬੁਰਾਈ—ਜਾਂ ਰੋਗ—ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੱਖ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੂਰ ਭਜਾਓ। ਨਿਰ੍ਰਿਤੀ (ਵਿਨਾਸ਼/ਅਪਸ਼ਕੁਨ) ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੂਰ, ਪਿੱਛੇ ਵੱਲ ਧੱਕ ਦਿਓ; ਅਤੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਪਾਪ (ਏਨಃ) ਵੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰੋ।
