Sukta 65
अवनम्। हरिः सुपर्णो दिवमारुहोऽर्चिषा ये त्वा दिप्सन्ति दिवमुत्पतन्तम्। अव तां जहि हरसा जातवेदोऽबिभ्यदुग्रोऽर्चिषा दिवमा रोह सूर्य
avanám | háríḥ supárṇo divám ā́ruho ’rcíṣā yé tvā dípsanti divám utpátantam | áva tā́n jahi hárasā jātavedo ’bíbhyad ugró ’rcíṣā divám ā́ roha sū́rya ||
A bringing-down. The tawny, fair-winged (Sun) mounteth heaven with radiance; those who would fain harm thee as thou springest upward to the sky—smite them down with fiery might, O Jātavedas; feared, fierce with thy flame, ascend thou unto heaven, O Sūrya.
ਅਵਨਮ (ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ)। ਹਰਿ—ਸੁਪਰਨ (ਸੂਰਜ)—ਕਿਰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਵਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਉੱਛਲਦਾ ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹੇ ਜਾਤਵੇਦਸ, ਅੱਗੀਲੇ ਤੇਜ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਮਾਰ ਦੇ। ਆਪਣੀ ਜਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਿਆਨਕ, ਉਗ੍ਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਹੇ ਸੂਰਜ, ਸਵਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਆਰੋਹਣ ਕਰ।
