Sukta 6
सप्तर्षीन् वा इदं ब्रूमोऽपो देवीः प्रजापतिम्। पितॄन् यमश्रेष्ठान् ब्रूमस्ते नो मुञ्चन्त्वंहसः
saptarṣī́n vá idáṁ brūmo ’pó devī́ḥ prajā́patiṁ | pitṝ́n yamaśréṣṭhān brūmás té no muñcántv áṁhasaḥ ||
The Seven Seers, verily, we thus address; the Waters, the Goddesses, and Prajāpati; the Fathers whose chief is Yama we address: let these release us from distress.
ਅਸੀਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਚੇ ਹੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਸਪਤ-ਰਿਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਦੇ ਹਾਂ; ਦੇਵੀਆਂ ਆਪಃ (ਜਲਾਂ) ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ; ਯਮ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਮੰਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਿਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਸੰਬੋਧਦੇ ਹਾਂ—ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅੰਹਸ (ਕਲੇਸ਼/ਪਾਪ-ਜਨਿਤ ਦੁੱਖ) ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾ ਦੇਣ।
