Sukta 8
védāháṃ sū́traṃ vitátaṃ yásminn ótāḥ prajā́ imā́ḥ | sū́traṃ sū́trasyāháṃ védā́tho yád brā́hmaṇaṃ mahát ||
I know the thread outstretched, wherein these creatures are inwoven. The thread, and the thread’s own secret, I know; yea, that which is the mighty Brahman.
Rishi: Traditionally associated with speculative Atharvanic seers (exact assignment varies by anukramaṇī traditions for AVŚ 10.8)
Devata: Brahman / Sūtra (cosmic principle); implicitly Prajāpati-order
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (predominant in AV; this verse is in anuṣṭubh-like cadence)
