Sukta 6
तस्मै घृतं सुरां मध्वन्नमन्नं क्षदामहे । स नः पितेव पुत्रेभ्यः श्रेयःश्रेयश्चिकित्सतु भूयोभूयः श्वःश्वो देवेभ्यो मणिरेत्य
tásmai ghṛtáṃ surā́ṃ mádhv ánnam ánnaṃ kṣadāmahe | sá naḥ pitā́-iva putrébhyaḥ śréyaḥ-śreyaś cikitsatu bhū́yo-bhūyaḥ śváḥ-śvo devébhyo maṇír éti ||
To him we deal ghee, surā, honey, food—yea food in plenty. Like a father, let him for our sons tend ever better welfare, again and again, day after day: from the Gods the amulet goes forth.
ਉਸ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਘਿਉ, ਸੁਰਾ, ਮਧੁ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਨ—ਹਾਂ, ਅੰਨ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤਾਤ—ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਪਿਤਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਹੋਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਯਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਸੰਭਾਲੇ, ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ, ਦਿਨੋਂ ਦਿਨ: ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਮਣੀ (ਤਾਬੀਜ਼) ਅੱਗੇ ਨਿਕਲਦੀ ਹੈ।
