६॥ (७) ४२-५० (१-९) विहव्यः। प्राजापत्या अनुष्टुप्, ४४ त्रिपदा गायत्रीगर्भानुष्टुप्, ५० त्रिष्टुप्। यं वयं मृगयामहे तं वधै स्तृणवामहै । व्यात्ते परमेष्ठिनो ब्रह्मणापीपदाम तम्

IAST Transliteration

yáṃ vayáṃ mṛgayā́mahe táṃ vadháiḥ str̥ṇavāmahai | vyā́tte paraméṣṭhino bráhmaṇā́pīpadāma tám

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Whom we pursue as quarry, him with slayings would we strew low. Into the wide-open (power) of the Highest Lord—by sacred spell—we have made that man to fall.

Translation

ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗੇ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਵਧਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਾਹ ਦੇਈਏ, ਢੇਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਈਏ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਠਿਨ ਦੀ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ—ਬ੍ਰਹਮ-ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਲ—ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
