Sukta 5
२॥ विष्णोः क्रमोऽसि सपत्नहा द्यौसंशितः सूर्यतेजाः । दिवमनु वि क्रमेऽहं दिवस्तं निर्भजामो यो३स्मान् द्वेष्टि यं वयं द्विष्मः। स मा जीवीत् तं प्राणो जहातु
víṣṇoḥ krámo ’si sapatná-hā dyáu-saṃśitaḥ sū́rya-tejāḥ | divám ánu ví krame ’háṃ divás táṃ nírbhajāmo yó ’smā́n dvéṣṭi yáṃ vayáṃ dvíṣmaḥ | sá mā́ jī́vit táṃ prāṇó jahātu
Thou art Viṣṇu’s Stride, the slayer of rivals, whetted with the Heaven, possessed of the Sun’s splendour. Along the Heaven I stride forth; from Heaven we thrust him out—who hateth us, whom we do hate. Let him not live: let Life-breath abandon him.
ਤੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂ ਦਾ ‘ਕ੍ਰਮ’ ਹੈਂ—ਸਪਤਨਹਾ, ਦ੍ਯੌ ਨਾਲ ਤਿੱਖਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਤੇਜ ਨਾਲ ਯੁਕਤ। ਮੈਂ ਦ੍ਯੌ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਦਮ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ; ਦ੍ਯੌ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਧੱਕ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ—ਜੋ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦ੍ਵੈਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਦ੍ਵੈਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਨਾ ਰਹੇ; ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇ।
