इक्ष्वाकुवंश-श्रवण-फलश्रुतिः

ପରାଶର ଇକ୍ଷ୍ୱାକୁବଂଶର ବଂଶାବଳୀର ଏକ ଅଂଶ ସମାପ୍ତ କରି କହନ୍ତି ଯେ ସେ ଏହି ବଂଶର ପ୍ରମୁଖ ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କୁ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରିଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ଫଳଶ୍ରୁତି ଦିଅନ୍ତି—ଏହି ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କର ଚରିତ ଓ କଥା ଶ୍ରବଣ କଲେ ଶ୍ରୋତା ପାପମୁକ୍ତ ହୁଏ। ପରାଶର–ମୈତ୍ରେୟ ସଂବାଦରେ ଏହା ଭକ୍ତିମୟ ମୁଦ୍ରା: ବଂଶକଥା କେବଳ ସୂଚନା ନୁହେଁ, ଧର୍ମମୁଖୀ ପବିତ୍ର ଶ୍ରବଣ, ବିଷ୍ଣୁଙ୍କ ଜଗତ୍-ଶାସନରେ ଆଧାରିତ।

एते हीक्ष्वाकुभूपालाः प्राधान्येन मयेरिताः एतेषां चरितं शृण्वन् सर्वपापैः प्रमुच्यते

ଏମାନେ ହିଁ ଇକ୍ଷ୍ୱାକୁବଂଶର ରାଜାମାନେ; ମୁଁ ତାଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଧାନ ମହିମା ସହ କହିଛି। ତାଙ୍କ ଚରିତ ଶୁଣିଲେ ସମସ୍ତ ପାପରୁ ମୁକ୍ତି ମିଳେ।
