Sage Parāśara (speaking to Maitreya)
This verse presents the “third pada” as Viṣṇu’s stainless, transcendent station that upholds the three worlds and governs essential cosmic functions like rainfall.
Parāśara links metaphysical purity (amalātmakam) with practical cosmic governance: Viṣṇu is not only the ultimate support of existence but also the causal ground for life-sustaining processes such as rain.
Viṣṇu is affirmed as the Supreme Reality whose very being becomes the support of the universe, integrating transcendence (pure abode) with immanence (cosmic causality).
