कीर्तिर्लक्ष्मीर्धृतिर्मेधा पुष्टिः श्रद्धा क्रिया मतिः बुद्धिर्लज्जा वपुः शान्तिस् तुष्टिः क्रान्तिश्च मातरः एतास्त्वामभिषिञ्चन्तु धर्मपत्न्यः समागताः //
kīrtirlakṣmīrdhṛtirmedhā puṣṭiḥ śraddhā kriyā matiḥ buddhirlajjā vapuḥ śāntis tuṣṭiḥ krāntiśca mātaraḥ etāstvāmabhiṣiñcantu dharmapatnyaḥ samāgatāḥ //
କୀର୍ତ୍ତି, ଲକ୍ଷ୍ମୀ, ଧୃତି, ମେଧା, ପୁଷ୍ଟି, ଶ୍ରଦ୍ଧା, କ୍ରିୟା, ମତି, ବୁଦ୍ଧି, ଲଜ୍ଜା, ବପୁ, ଶାନ୍ତି, ତୁଷ୍ଟି ଓ କ୍ରାନ୍ତି—ଏହି ମାତୃଶକ୍ତିମାନେ ଧର୍ମପତ୍ନୀରୂପେ ସମାଗତ ହୋଇ ତୁମକୁ ଅଭିଷେକ କରୁନ୍ତୁ।
This verse is not about Pralaya; it functions as a consecratory blessing, invoking personified virtues (Dharmapatnīs) to “anoint” the recipient with auspicious qualities.
It frames ideal rulership/household life as grounded in dharma: prosperity (lakṣmī) must be joined with steadiness (dhṛti), discernment (buddhi), modesty (lajjā), peace (śānti), and contentment (tuṣṭi)—a moral checklist for governance and daily conduct.
The ritual term is abhiṣeka (anointing/consecration): a standard Purāṇic procedure used for installing deities, initiating vows, or consecrating kings/ritual patrons, where auspicious powers are invoked to sanctify the act.
