न देवितव्यं हृष्टेन कितवेनेति न: श्रुतम् त॑ त्वामद्य मुदा युक्त नाहं देवितुमुत्सहे । प्रियं तु ते चिकीर्षामि वर्ततां यदि मन्यसे
na devitavyaṃ hṛṣṭena kitaveneti naḥ śrutam | taṃ tvām adya mudā yukta nāhaṃ devitum utsahe | priyaṃ tu te cikīrṣāmi vartatāṃ yadi manyase |
ବୈଶମ୍ପାୟନ କହିଲେ—ଧୂର୍ତ୍ତ ଜୁଆରୀ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଅତ୍ୟଧିକ ହର୍ଷରେ ମତ୍ତ ଥାଏ, ସେତେବେଳେ ତାଙ୍କ ସହ ଜୁଆ ଖେଳିବା ଉଚିତ୍ ନୁହେଁ—ଏହି କଥା ଆମେ ଶୁଣିଛୁ। ଆଜି ଆପଣ ମଧ୍ୟ ଆନନ୍ଦରେ ଉଲ୍ଲସିତ; ତେଣୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ସହ ପାଶା ଖେଳିବାକୁ ମୁଁ ସାହସ କରୁନି। ତଥାପି ଆପଣଙ୍କ ପ୍ରିୟ କାମ କରିବାକୁ ଚାହୁଁଛି—ଆପଣ ଯଦି ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ଭାବନ୍ତି, ତେବେ ଖେଳ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହେଉ।
