सर्व यथावच्चरितं यद् यदेशि: प्रतिश्रुतम् । एवमेतद् ध्रुवं ज्ञात्वा ततो बीभत्सुरागत:,इन पाण्डवोंने जो-जो प्रतिज्ञाएँ की थीं, उन सबका यथावत् पालन किया है; अवश्य इस बातको अच्छी तरह जानकर ही अर्जुन यहाँ आये हैं
sarva yathāvac caritaṃ yad yadeṣiḥ pratiśrutam | evam etad dhruvaṃ jñātvā tato bībhatsur āgataḥ ||
ଭୀଷ୍ମ କହିଲେ—ତୁମେ ଯେଯେ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲ, ସେସବୁକୁ ଯଥାର୍ଥ ଭାବେ ପାଳନ କରିଛ। ଏହା ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ବୋଲି ଜାଣି ତେଣୁ ବୀଭତ୍ସୁ (ଅର୍ଜୁନ) ଏଠାକୁ ଆସିଛି।
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights dharma as fidelity to one’s pledged word: moral authority and trust arise when vows are fulfilled exactly, not merely intended.
Bhishma remarks that the Pandavas have kept their promises precisely; on that certainty he infers that Arjuna (called Bibhatsu) has come, implying Arjuna’s action is grounded in verified knowledge of their fulfilled pledge.
