बद्धगोधाड््गुलित्राण: प्रगृहीतशरासन: । ततः प्रायादुदीचीं च कपिप्रवरकेतन:
baddha-godhāṅguli-trāṇaḥ pragṛhīta-śarāsanaḥ | tataḥ prāyād udīcīṃ ca kapi-pravara-ketanaḥ ||
ଗୋଧାଚର୍ମର ଅଙ୍ଗୁଳିତ୍ରାଣ ବାନ୍ଧି, ଧନୁ-ବାଣ ଧାରଣ କରି, କପିଶ୍ରେଷ୍ଠ ହନୁମାନଙ୍କ ଚିହ୍ନିତ ଧ୍ୱଜା ବହି ଅର୍ଜୁନ ଉତ୍ତର ଦିଗକୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କଲେ।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined readiness aligned with dharma: before action, one equips oneself carefully and proceeds with steady resolve. The Hanumān-emblem on the banner evokes protective strength and devotion, suggesting that righteous effort is supported by remembrance of higher ideals.
Arjuna puts on protective finger-guards made from iguana-hide, takes up his bow-and-arrow equipment, and departs toward the north, identified by the banner bearing Hanumān’s emblem.
