यस्मादलं समस्तास्ता: पतन्ति जलमूर्तय: । तस्मात् पातालमित्येव ख्यायते पुरमुत्तमम्
Translation
ଜଳସ୍ୱରୂପ ଯେତେ ସମସ୍ତ ବସ୍ତୁ ଅଛି, ସେସବୁ ସେଠାରେ ପ୍ରଚୁର ଭାବେ ପତିତ ହୁଏ; ତେଣୁ ସେଇ ଉତ୍ତମ ନଗର ‘ପାତାଳ’ ନାମେ ଖ୍ୟାତ।
