Adhyaya 60: Self-Assertion, Daiva, and the Rhetoric of Inevitability (उद्योग पर्व)
तस्मान्न भवता चिन्ता कार्यषा स्यात् कथंचन । दैवेष्वपेक्षका होते शश्वद् भावेषु भारत
tasmān na bhavatā cintā kāryā syāt kathaṃcana | daiveṣv apekṣakā hote śaśvad bhāveṣu bhārata ||
ଏହେତୁ ଆପଣ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରକାର ଚିନ୍ତା କରନ୍ତୁ ନାହିଁ। ହେ ଭାରତ! ଦେବମାନେ ସଦା ଶମ, ଦମ ଆଦି ଦିବ୍ୟ ଭାବକୁ ହିଁ ଆଶା କରନ୍ତି; କାମ-କ୍ରୋଧ ପରି ଆସୁର ଆବେଗକୁ ନୁହେଁ।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Do not be ruled by anxiety; cultivate daivī-bhāvas (divine dispositions like calmness and restraint), since the gods favor such inner qualities rather than impulses like desire and anger.
Vaiśaṃpāyana addresses a Bharata-descendant and offers reassurance, redirecting the listener from worry toward maintaining divine-minded virtues that align with dharma.
