Sanatsujāta–Dhṛtarāṣṭra Saṃvāda: Pramāda as Mṛtyu
Chapter 42
सर्वार्थानां व्याकरणाद् वैयाकरण उच्यते । तन्मूलतो व्याकरणं व्याकरोतीति तत् तथा,सम्पूर्ण अर्थोको व्याकृत (प्रकट) करनेके कारण ज्ञानी पुरुष 'वैयाकरण” कहलाता है। यह समस्त अर्थोंका प्रकटीकरण मूलभूत ब्रह्मसे ही होता है, अतः वही मुख्य वैयाकरण है; विद्वान् पुरुष भी इसी प्रकार अर्थोंको व्याकृत (व्यक्त) करता है, इसलिये वह भी वैयाकरण है
sarvārthānāṁ vyākaraṇād vaiyākaraṇa ucyate | tanmūlato vyākaraṇaṁ vyākarotīti tat tathā |
ସମସ୍ତ ଅର୍ଥକୁ ବ୍ୟାକରଣ—ବିଶ୍ଳେଷଣ କରି ପ୍ରକଟ—କରିବାରୁ ଜ୍ଞାନୀକୁ ‘ବୈୟାକରଣ’ କୁହାଯାଏ। କିନ୍ତୁ ମୂଳତଃ ସମସ୍ତ ଅର୍ଥର ପ୍ରକାଶ ବ୍ରହ୍ମରୁ ହିଁ ହୁଏ; ତେଣୁ ସେହି ବ୍ରହ୍ମ ହିଁ ପ୍ରଧାନ ବୈୟାକରଣ, ଏବଂ ପଣ୍ଡିତ ମଧ୍ୟ ସେହିପରି ଅର୍ଥକୁ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତ କରେ ବୋଲି ସେ ମଧ୍ୟ ବୈୟାକରଣ କୁହାଯାଏ।
सनत्युजात उवाच
The verse redefines ‘grammar’ as the power to disclose meaning: ultimately Brahman is the true revealer of all meanings, while a learned person is called a grammarian insofar as he makes meanings clear in speech and understanding.
In the Sanatsujātīya section of Udyoga Parva, Sanatsujāta instructs Dhṛtarāṣṭra on higher knowledge; here he uses the term ‘vaiyākaraṇa’ to connect linguistic analysis with metaphysical revelation, pointing beyond technical grammar to Brahman as the ground of all intelligibility.
